Faith vs. Fear

How do I choose Faith over Fear?

A lot of people use the phrase “Fake it til you make it”! I have to say I am not a big fan of this phrase, because I truly believe is authenticity. So, I like to change that phrase to “Faith it Til you Make it”! I think more often we let our fears dictate how we live our lives.

Let’s define: What is fear? Fear is the negative outcome we create in our minds... it’s the story we tell ourselves.

What Fears do we choose?:

  • Fear of failure

  • Fear of success

  • Fear of being judged and what other people think

  • Fear of the Unknown

In the end, when we allow fear to dictate our actions (or inaction) we allow fear to steer us away from our dreams, which ultimately steers us away from our purpose! What I found is that fear is paralyzing, so then you just become complacent. Maybe you dream about things you want to do or be, or maybe you just get so paralyzed that you give up even dreaming.

What I want to share with you is WHEN we choose to have Faith, we choose to look at the unknown outcome in a positive way. We choose to KNOW that what we are doing holds a higher purpose over the fears we have created!!

I woke up one day and realized I was letting my fear of what other people thought of me to hold me back! It has taken a lot of work to overcome it (which is definitely still in progress)!! But that’s the thing, it’s in progress because we are continuously improving from who we were yesterday. This is about progress over perfection!

Here are a list of things I did to overcome this fear and choose faith:

  • Daily prayer

  • Discover my strengths

  • Discover the stories I have been telling myself

  • Journaling

  • Gratitude practice

  • Life goals list

** Stay tuned for more information of each of the above!**
